The pig is one of the most consumed meet type in the world and mostly in caucasion region. But Azerbaijan is the muslim country thats why it was not easy to find pork or bacon in Baku in markets and restaurants. There are only few place that serve this meet type because in my country there is no pig farm for that and there are only few people grow pig.In my opinion they should solve this problem because people especially tourist people want to eat it some time but there is not a famous place recommend to them.

This is my 3rd year in Tourism and Hospitality faculty. So in this blog i will represent you Baku’s positive and negative sides and to my mind these information will guide you about coming here or not.
Hope my blog will somehow help you and you will enjoy it 🙂
Azerbaijan culture combines the historical, religious and traditional evolving and moulding over centuries to create the modern-day Azerbaijani. Some traits may be familiar and others foreign and contradictory, but this is what makes the country special. Embrace the following quirks, and immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of Azerbaijan. The official language is Azerbaijani, which belongs to the Turkic family of languages. The vast majority of residents speak Russian as a second language with some viewing it as the language of culture, in the same way that fluency in French represents a certain air of elegance in Europe. Younger Azerbaijanis are beginning to learn English. Moreover when you visit Azerbaijan you will experience some of the world’s best hospitality. Locals go to great lengths to help, and guests are a valued commodity. Stay in a homestay, and hosts treat guests with endless cups (or armuda) of tea, snacks and anything else. Ask for directions, and they might show rather than tell. The younger ones who speak some English are often happy to chat about their country. Giving good hospitality is deeply ingrained in Azerbaijani culture.Dont say the name of Armenia in Baku. The relationship between Azerbaijan and Armenia is like Israel and the Middle East. They have been engaged in conflict since 1988 over the dispute Nagornie Karabagh. Even saying the name evokes suspicion and raises eyebrows. Hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijani refugees were forced out of their villages in the Karabakh a generation ago. People are still bitter. Tensions run deep. Ceasefires are regularly ignored. The land of fire. Fire symbolises Azerbaijan. From Baku’s Flame Towers to Zoroastrian fire temples and burning water infernos have deep ties to Azerbaijan culture. Scientifically, the vast quantities of subterranean gas are responsible. Culturally, fire gave light and was mystical to the early inhabitants.
Old Baku
Old city or local people call it İçeri Sheher is a lively history with more than 1,300 families, with a unique infrastructure. The existence of people here makes Icheri Sheher unique as a unique complex. These people carry the spirit and national traditions of the ancient city from generation to generation, and our national and moral values are preserved as historical and cultural monuments. From the moment I enter Icheri Sheher, the person experiences a distinct aura of this unique and mysterious space and is loaded with positive energy. In a few steps, the hustle and bustle of the capital, which is abundant with noise, mobility, and enthusiastic emotions, is replaced by a humorous medieval weather. As you travel here, the streets, witnessing millennial history, reveal many secrets to you without breaking the magic of tranquil silence. At every step, emotions are interchangeable, and the mysterious unity of antiquity and modernity amazes people. İn this old city you can see only traditional restaurants and shops. To telling the truth you shold not buy anything in that shops but restaurants are so good for every period of the day but aspecially breakfast is so delicious in that old city.I dont want to give recommendation for restaurants but Sehirli Tendir is one of the most popular restaurants for breakfast but otherwise all restaurants are soo good.I highly recommend to visit Shirvanshahlar palace after breakfast.İt is like a museum in open are and it was soo old .And finally Qız Qalası (Maiden tover )is also so famous and ancient building to visit for tourist.Don’t forget to go there before you leave Baku.
Difficulties
As there are various difficulties in every single country, in Azerbaijan Baku also are some of them. The first problem here for tourists can be transportation. Baku is the city which has not improved enough in the qualitative way of transportation yet. There are so big traffic jams every day in the mornings and in the evenings. And people can be late to work, school, university and etc. In my opinion the reason of that problem is that people do not use local transportation because our bus drivers are not so professional and our metro stations are not so comfortable, another issue is that the amount of cars is so much. If for example in one family there are 4 people 2or 3 of them has a car, and this is the another cause of the traffic problem.
Another difficulty that tourist can meet is the language problem. In Azerbaijan few people know English. So as a result tourists can not ask if they need something or even if they will ask they will not get any answers because most of the local people except some young in the city will not understand them. Moreover this trouble can arise during their trips with taxi, because most of the taxi drivers can not talk in English. So they better should have a dictionary with them or they can reserve special tourist guides and buses for strolling in Baku beforehand 🙂
One more problem which i think arise in every country for every tourist is that local workers always try to get more money from tourists:)) For instance, when you go somewhere by taxi, drivers try to prolong the way and get more money from you, another issue is when you go to restaurants and cafes workers there try to add more amount of money to the bill for the food that you do not even ordered and eat. Moreover, when you go for shopping, sellers try to sell you more hight price cloth and even if some cloth that you liked is on sale they can easily skip it and ask the former price of it, and what is more they can ask you just more money for the thing that is actually cheaper. So, you should always be aware of such facts in every single country that you travel to 🙂
Entertainment
Baku is one of the best place in Caucas region for luxury entertainment. There are lots of good place for entertain. For example for morning you can enjoy in old city it was one of the best place for having breakfast and enjoy in the traditional and historical atmosphere. For afternoon you can visit Baku boulevard or Nizami street which is local people call it Targovi square.İn Tarqovi square you can find lots of shops and restaurants and cafes around it and I should say that one of the best places that has Malacannes it was good place for having shisha and also good foods. For nightlife there are 2 selection pubs and nightclubs. For nighclubs ı can say that Pasifico,Eleven and Enerji are good for having fun but it was I bit expensive.I can say that You should not go to other night clubs than this because they are not so secure for tourists.Buddha bar is world famous brand and I highly recommend that place for enrtertain and also Chinar is also good night lounge and goo selection for having fun.İf you visit Baku you shold visit pubs in Baku because it was fully different culture.I can not explain in words but my recommends are Yaban,Beerva,Beerbasha and Krevetka pub.For me Krevetka is so good for price and quality equality . Moreover there are some famous restaurants which give traditional and delicious food like Mangal, Chayki, Sumakh and etc. Another thing is the places with international kitchen which are Hard Rock, Central Baku, Happy Moons Cafe. So the total amount of money that is needed per person for a day is approximately 100-150$ in order to entertain in mid-class places.
Thats all.
